AMD Raphael already in mid-September?
AMD Ryzen 7000 series may officially go on sale on September 15th.
During a presentation in China (probably for local retailers and distributors), a person representing the company might have just confirmed the availability date of Ryzen 7000 and AM5 motherboards. According to one of the presentation slides, AMD next-gen CPU series may already be available on September 15th, which is the ‘on-sale’ date.
Therefore, AMD Ryzen 7000 series would become available more than a month sooner than Radeon 7000 GPU series. This would give customers enough time to pick all new parts for an-all AMD next-gen build.

AMD Ryzen 5000 series with Zen3 microarchitecture launched in November 2020, a month sooner than Radeon 6000 based on RDNA2. The next-gen Ryzen series could follow a very similar scheme:
- Ryzen 7000: September 15th
- Radeon 7000: Late October to Mid-November
The new Ryzen desktop series will require a new socket called LGA1178 or AM5. The X670/B650 motherboards will only be compatible with DDR5 memory technology. The new platform will also be PCIe Gen5 compatible (for storage, but also GPUs on X670E series). AMD has not yet confirmed whether its Radeon 7000 graphics based on RDNA3 architecture are also compatible with this new interface.
