Intel Raptor Lake CPU to hit 6 GHz stock, 8 GHz world record confirmed
At Intel Tech Tour in Israel, the company confirmed its plans for the Raptor Lake series.
Intel Raptor Lake series only exist because Meteor Lake wouldn’t be ready on time, stated an Intel VP at the event. The company also confirmed that Raptor Lake brings an increase of 15% for single-threaded workloads and 41% for multi-threaded. This new generation of desktop CPUs is set to launch next month, but Intel is slowly revealing new details to the participants of the Tech Tour.

More importantly, the company confirmed Raptor Lake will have the first SKU offering 6 GHz stock, but it was not mentioned when such processor would be released and under what name. The obvious candidate would be a new KS-variant, which are typically released a few months after the initial K-series, so this might be Intel’s effort to combat the upcoming Ryzen 7000X3D series planned for CES 2022.
Furthermore, Intel also stated that Raptor Lake is the first architecture that will break the 8 GHz world record. Effectively, this confirms the 8 GHz OC leak, but even this frequency is not yet record breaking. For this, Raptor Lake would have to reach 8.7 GHz and probably a lot of liquid nitrogen.

Intel 13th Gen Core series are now set to be announced at the Innovation event on September 27th, the same day AMD lifts the sale embargo on its Ryzen 7000 CPUs.
