Core i9-13900K in 7-Zip test

Leaker @OneRaichu shares new benchmark figures for the unreleased Raptor Lake CPU.

The Core i9-13900K is the flagship SKU from the upcoming 13th Gen Core series. Not only does this processor have more cores, but also much higher clock speeds compared to Alder Lake processor.

Raichu provided a screenshot showing the 7-Zip benchmark with compression and decompression ratings. The new processor is around 20% faster than 12900K in compression test, but also significantly faster in decompression. With a rating of 231 GIPS, it is 60% faster than 12900K’s 144 GIPS.

Both systems were using the same 32GB DDR5-6400CL32 memory kit, but there is no information on the motherboard used.

Such a performance improvement is mainly due to higher 13900K CPU clock and increased core count. The screenshots shared by Raichu show 13900K going as high as 5716 MHZ for one thread and 4611 MHz for 16 threads. In the same test 12900K only reached 5021 MHz and 4060 MHz respectively.
