Honor, the company which is known for making smartphones, also has a lineup of other products, including routers. In the latest development, the company has launched a new router in its home market China — Honor Router 4 Pro.
The product is priced at 399 yuan (~$63) in the Chinese market but the company is offering a 50 yuan discount for a limited time, which brings the price of the Honor Router 4 Pro to 349 yuan, which is about $55.
The Honor Router 4 Pro supports dual-band concurrent 3000Mbps high-speed wireless and a new generation of Wi-Fi 6 technology. The device packs 256MB of RAM and supports access to up to 256 devices. It also has support for MU-MIMO technology and OFDMA technology for simultaneous transmission of multi-user data.
The router is powered by Qualcomm CPU+NPU SoC and the NPU independently handles the data forwarding, providing a more stable high-speed experience in high-speed transmission and multi-user access scenarios. It uses a high-power independent signal amplifier, which can easily cover an area of 200 square meters.
It combines the 2.4GHz and 5GHz dual-band, and then intelligently selects the most suitable frequency band for the user. The 5GHz band is preferred for short distances, with fast speed and low latency while the 2.4GHz is preferred for long-distance but offers a wider coverage and enables easy networking for IoT devices.
The company says that the Honor Route 4 Pro uses Al recognition for games and performs special acceleration to ensure that game’s data is forwarded first, reduce latency and improve connection stability.
The Honor Router 4 Pro is equipped with a full Gigabit Ethernet port and supports blind insertion of the network port. It also supports the NFC function with a one-touch connection feature to quickly connect to the Wi-Fi.
